Celebrate America's 250th Birthday

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday in 2026 by joining singers from across the country for the America! Choral Festival, March 20-22, 2026.

Z. Randall Stroope will lead the festival chorus up to a finale concert held in the iconic John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Washington, DC is the heart of the United States and offers limitless opportunities to celebrate America and its rich history and culture. Explore the National Mall, flanked by the Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, and numerous monuments and memorials. Get a taste of American history in the world-famous Smithsonian museums, showcasing the nation’s diverse history and culture.

Sample Itinerary

Day One: Thursday, March 19, 2026

  • Arrive in Washington, DC
  • Meet your Tour Manager, who will escort the group through the duration of the tour
  • Sightseeing may include a panoramic motorcoach tour of Historic Washington, DC, including Lafayette Square for a photo opportunity of the White House
  • Check-in to the hotel
  • Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Enjoy an evening walking tour of the Lincoln, Korean, World War II, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, and Vietnam Memorials, as well as a view of the outside of the Washington Monument
  • Return to the hotel for overnight

Day Two: Friday, March 20

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning excursion to Mount Vernon, the historic home of George & Martha Washington
  • Lunch, on own
  • Afternoon free to explore the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and/or the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (timed entrance tickets required)
  • Festival Welcome Dinner and introductions
  • Evening Festival Chorus Rehearsal
  • Overnight at the hotel

Day Three: Saturday, March 21

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning Festival Chorus rehearsal
  • Lunch, on own
  • Visit the National Archives to view original copies of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Emancipation Proclamation
  • Time permitting, explore one of the Smithsonian Museums
  • Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Evening Festival Chorus Rehearsal
  • Overnight at the hotel

Day Four: Sunday, March 22

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Festival Chorus Dress Rehearsal at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
  • Boxed lunch provided at the Kennedy Center Café
  • America! Choral Festival Performance in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
  • Depart for home

When is the AMERICA! Choral Festival?

The AMERICA! Choral Festival is March 20-22, 2026. The finale concert will take place March 22, 2026 in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

Can individual singers join the festival?

As of right now, the AMERICA! Choral Festival is open to choirs of 20 singers or more. As the event gets closer, we may open the Festival to individual singers to help fill a balanced choir.

How many rehearsals will there be?

The Festival Choir will rehearse a total of 4 times across three days prior to the finale concert in the Kennedy Center.

What is included in the festival cost?

 Music Celebrations International is happy to customize a proposal specifically for your choir. Our standard festival offering includes:

  • Festival arrangements, including necessary permits and clearances
  • A full-time professionally licensed Tour Manager
  • Local and Long-Distance transportation
  • Accommodations
  • Two meals a day (typically breakfast and dinner)
  • Sightseeing and entrance fees
  • Souvenir Festival T-Shirt
  • Gratuities to Tour Managers, local coach drivers, and hotel personnel
